Bike Versus Kick Scooter - Which Is Better?

Picking between a kick scooter or a bicycle can be confusing, but it need not be. If you are undecided between which of these options is more ideal for you, knowing their dissimilarities may be able to help you. The obvious difference between kick scooters and bicycles is that the latter has a seat and drive train, while the former doesn't. This means that unlike bicycles, operating a kick scooter engages the whole body to propel it forward making long trips difficult to sustain.

However, there are some models of motor-driven scooters like the Razor Electric Scooter E300 S that have a detachable seat for easy cruising. Even though using electric scooters such as the E300 Razor scooter is not as taxing, a single charge will only last you for forty minutes and thus would not still be the ideal vehicle to get if you travel long distances.

Scooters, whether human-powered or motor-driven such as the E300 Razor scooter are more compact than bikes. Some kick scooters can even be folded so you can place them inside a tote bag if they are not in use.

In most cases, a folding scooter is more easily carried than a folding bicycle. Kick scooters especially those used for freestyle scootering are lighter than twelve pounds. Motor-driven models however are often hefty, usually about fifty pounds. The heaviness of the said model is one of the few issues raised by those who submitted Razor E300 review. Still, Razor E300 reviews are favorable on the whole owing to the scooter's ease of use, silent operation, and speed.

In addition, scooters tend to be easier to maneuver between obstacles because there are no protruding pedals. Aside from that, since the feet are nearer to the ground on a scooter, it is easier to step on and off making it possible for the one using it to alternate between walking and pushing as energy and route dictate.

One drawback of scooters though is that they cannot be operated on off-road conditions and in most states may be limited to run only over footpaths. Bicycles on the other hand can be used on roads, and off-road conditions. Bicycles also allow you to reach your destination faster since they can run for twenty to thirty miles per hour, depending on the fitness of the rider of course. In contrast, the Razor electric scooter E300, pegged by many as one the fastest motor-driven scooters around, can only travel up to 15 mph.
