How do you fully engage your online customers? What methods are you using to engage your customers? One key tactic is called providing a "Call to Action" or Call to Action. Key action requirements is engagement marketing. A Call to Action is a way to make your company interactive, your newsletters directional, and your marketing efforts productive. Call to Action is the effort to have you customer take a committed step towards your business. There are several elements a business should consider when deciding upon your Call to Action campaign and marketing approach. Several decisions should be made when considering your Call to Action. First, are you looking to recruit new customers, are you hoping to leverage your referrals, or are you simply reigniting an old flame. Are you looking to re-engage customers. Whatever your marketing goal, using a call to action in your email campaign is an effective way to boost your readability, and your overall return on investment.

Now that you have decided to use a Call to Action in your email campaign, let's take a look at what a Call to Action is. Now that you know your action items, let's look at a Call to Action. A Call to Action is a brief section in your email that asks or requires your customer to "act" on something in order to receive a benefit. A Call to Action is a snippet that calls to action. This action can vary from clicking on a link, bringing in a portion of the email, calling a number within a certain timeline, and others. Understanding your audience and your customer base will help you determine what methods are most effective when choosing your own Call to Action. This action varies based on your business.

Remembering the basics to email marketing is going to continue to be important and implied when utilizing a call to action offer. Keeping the email basics in mind will be key.Simply sending a one graphic coupon doesn't do the trick these days. People are "interacting" with applications all day long on their computers and smart phones. People spend hours online or browsing their phone. Maximizing your readers interest and providing an interactive experience while providing a call to action is key. Understanding what your customers want is coupled greatly with your Call to Action. Remember to always use a good ratio of pictures to text. Don't over use text to flood customers, sprinkle in some photos and graphics. Don't forget to include pertinent information in your email, along with your call to action. Advice and expertise, coupled with a Call to Action is a great way to engage your customers. Your call to action should be prominent on the email. Bold type, a different color, something that clearly stands out to say, "Now that you've read our email, do something!". Changing your font color, font size, or font style is a great way to have your Call to Action stand out. This will ensure that you still provide your customers with important relevant information, and couple that with an extra action step to drive sales, contacts, or inquiries.

So what are some good Call to Action offers? Are certain Call to Actions better than others? Sure, you can send a simple coupon, which most of the time works. Offering a discount can be a great Call to action. But that's effective if you're trying to sell your items cheap. You want to drive sales and profit! First, you want to decide upon your audience. Give options to your customers based on their preferences. Are you providing a call to action to current customers? Are you targeting your current customers? Are you trying to boost your referral program? Do referrals drive your business. How strong is your referral program? Are you looking to get new customers only? Are new customers your primary focus? Trying to move your merchandise, such as 2012 cars when your stock just filled up with 2013? Will there be merchandise involved. Based upon your goal, this will determine if you use a coupon, a referral action, or simply a new customer focused deal. Some examples would be, providing a 10% product discount. Giving a free meal to a customer that brings in a friend, or offering a half price discount to the first 10 new walk in customers. Get creative but remember, you want to include a timeline, an expiration date, and a focused call to action based on your goals.
